Ellen Downing Gould RDH MPA
Ellen Gould has been a licensed dental hygienist since 1977, a public health dental hygienist since 2010, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. In addition to private practice, she has held faculty positions with the Dental Hygiene programs at Mount Ida College and Cape Cod Community College.
From 2001 to 2010, Ms. Gould worked as a Research Hygienist, assisted in developing and implementing the ForsythKids Program and served as the Program Director. She has also been an active member, participant and contributor to the dental hygiene profession both locally and nationally over the course of her career.
In addition Ellen is a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Honor Society, served on the Advisory Committee – Northern Essex Technical High School, the Executive Board of the Tri-County Commission for Oral Health Excellence, the Board of Directors for the National Network for Oral Health Access, the Advisory Committee for Cape Cod Child Development, a 2010 and 2011 nominee for the Oral Health Hero Award, and recipient of the Nantucket Community Hero Award in 2012. She has presented at conferences across the country and has been published for the following articles; “Caregiver Tips”, Oral Health America, 2013, “Atraumatic Restorative Treatment”, American Dental Hygiene Association Access Magazine, 2013, Co-author, “ForsythKids Model of Health Care Improvement,” Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA), 2008.
Valerie Osborn RDH
Valerie is a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College. She began her career with The Forsyth Institute in 2004. While at Forsyth, Valerie worked as a dental assistant, Research Hygienist and finally as ForsythKids™ Program Coordinator for the Boston and Lynn schools. While at Forsyth, Valerie coordinated care for thousands of children in the Cities of Lynn and Boston, assisted in coordinating a ForsythKids™ summer program at the Camp Harborview Boys and Girls Club and assisted with the ForsythKids™ annual event at the Boston Children’s Museum. In 2010, Valerie left The Forsyth Institute for a career with Polished LLC and the opportunity to provide preventive care as a Public Health Dental Hygienist. Valerie is also a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Honor Society and has participated in the Global Humantiarian Project of Nepal, the YMCA Healthy Kids Day and Kids Seal at Quinsigamond Community College. Valerie shares her passion for prevention with all of the other Polished LLC team members and is working with them to eliminate dental disease for all ages.
